How can I reduce stringing when printing Rapid PETG?

Stringing is usually caused by wet filament or printing too hot. First, dry the filament at 65 ℃ for 4 to 6 hours. If stringing persists, lower your printing temperature by 5 ℃ increments and slightly increase your retraction distance in the slicer.

Will PETG damage my glass build plate?

It can. PETG adheres incredibly well to glass and can actually chip or shatter bare glass when removed. You must apply a release agent, such as glue stick, hairspray, or blue painter’s tape, before printing on a glass bed.

Do I need to dry Rapid PETG before printing?

Yes, drying is strongly recommended. PETG is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from the air quickly. Wet PETG will cause severe stringing, popping noises during extrusion, and brittle prints. Dry it at 65 ℃ for 4 to 6 hours.

Should I use a cooling fan for functional PETG parts?

For maximum mechanical strength and layer adhesion, turn the part cooling fan off or keep it low (10-30%). However, if you are printing at high speeds and need sharp details or bridges, you can increase the fan speed up to 50%.

How is Rapid PETG different from standard PLA?

Rapid PETG is significantly tougher, more flexible, and has higher temperature resistance (up to ~75 ℃) than PLA. It also resists water and UV light better, making it the superior choice for outdoor functional parts.
