Expert guidance and technical specifications for LANDU 3D printing materials and hardware.

Material Guide

Understand the technical properties to select the perfect filament or resin for your project.

Which FDM filament should I choose: PLA, PETG, or ABS?
  • PLA: Engineered for ease of use, high-detail models, and indoor prototypes.
  • PETG: The industrial upgrade. Offers excellent impact resistance, flexibility, and weatherability. Ideal for functional mechanical parts, brackets, and outdoor applications.
  • ABS/ASA: Designed for high heat and UV resistance. Requires a printer enclosure for successful extrusion. Best suited for automotive parts and high-stress outdoor engineering.
Caution: PLA softens at approximately 55°C and should not be exposed to high-heat environments.
Can I use LANDU Standard Resin for functional mechanical parts?

No. LANDU Standard Resin provides exceptional dimensional accuracy and a smooth surface finish for miniatures and display models (Shore hardness 86D). However, it is relatively rigid and may fracture under sudden impact or high mechanical stress.

Note: For functional mechanical components, we recommend utilizing specialized Tough or ABS-like resins.

FDM Troubleshooting

Diagnostic steps to resolve adhesion, stringing, and extrusion issues.

How can I resolve first-layer adhesion issues or corner warping?

Poor bed adhesion is typically caused by improper leveling or surface contamination. Follow these diagnostic steps:

  • Z-Offset Calibration: Ensure the nozzle is properly distanced to achieve adequate filament squish.
  • Surface Preparation: Clean the PEI or glass build plate thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or warm soapy water.
  • Temperature Adjustment: Increase the heated bed temperature by 5-10°C and eliminate cold drafts.
  • Adhesion Aids: For models with large footprints, utilize a slicer brim or apply LANDU Bed Adhesion Spray.
How do I prevent PETG from damaging my PEI/Glass build plate?
Caution: PETG bonds aggressively to smooth surfaces. Always apply a release agent—such as LANDU Bed Adhesion Spray or a glue stick—prior to printing. This ensures strong adhesion during printing while allowing safe release once cooled.
Why is my PETG print exhibiting severe stringing or popping sounds?

Moisture absorption is the primary cause of stringing and oozing in hygroscopic materials like PETG and TPU. When wet filament enters the hotend, water converts to steam, disrupting extrusion.

Solution: Dry the filament in the LANDU Filament Dryer Box at 55–60°C for 6 to 8 hours. Subsequently, slightly lower your print temperature and calibrate retraction.
What causes the nozzle to clog mid-print when using PLA?

Mid-print PLA clogs are often caused by "Heat Creep"—a phenomenon where heat travels up the hotend assembly, melting the filament before it reaches the melt zone.

Caution: Ensure your hotend cooling fan is operating correctly, and never print standard PLA in a fully enclosed or heated printer chamber.

Resin Post-Processing

Best practices for washing, curing, and achieving an optically clear finish.

Why did my resin print fail, leaving only a flat disc stuck to the FEP film?

This occurs when the initial layers fail to adhere to the build plate and are instead pulled off by the FEP film.

Solution: Increase your Bottom Exposure Time by 5–10 seconds in your slicer. Verify the build plate is leveled and your model is properly hollowed with drain holes.
What is the correct solvent for cleaning LANDU Standard Resin?

Submerge the printed part in 95% or higher concentration Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) or a dedicated resin washing solution. Agitate gently to remove uncured resin.

Environmental Safety: Never pour liquid resin or contaminated washing solvent down the drain. Always cure waste liquid under UV light before disposing.
How long should I UV cure the model, and what causes cracking?

Ensure the model is completely dry and free of any residual IPA before curing. Cure under a 405nm UV light for 2 to 5 minutes. Cracking or yellowing is a direct result of over-curing or curing a model while it is still wet with solvent.

Hardware Operation

Safety parameters and guidelines for LANDU equipment.

What are the recommended temperature parameters for the LANDU Filament Dryer Box?
  • PLA / PLA Silk: 45–50°C for 4–6 hours.
  • PETG / ABS / ASA: 55–60°C for 4–6 hours.
  • TPU / Nylon / PC: 65–68°C for 6–8+ hours.
Important: Do not exceed 50°C to prevent the PLA from softening and fusing together on the spool.
Is it safe to print directly from the LANDU Dryer Box while it is actively heating?

Yes. The LANDU Filament Dryer Box is engineered with specialized feed outlets, allowing your 3D printer to extrude filament directly from the active heating environment. This prevents ambient moisture absorption during multi-hour print jobs.

What is the proper procedure for applying LANDU Bed Adhesion Spray?

To protect your printer's mechanical components, always detach the build plate from the printer before spraying. This prevents airborne adhesive particles from contaminating linear rails, bearings, or optical sensors.

Apply an even mist from 20-30 cm away, allow it to dry momentarily, and reinstall the plate. The residue is completely water-washable for easy maintenance.
