FAQ & Files

How do I prevent PETG from damaging my PEI build plate?

Always apply a release agent (like a glue stick or Magigoo) before printing. PETG bonds extremely well to PEI, glass, and smooth surfaces. If printed directly without a protective layer, it can permanently fuse to the bed and tear chunks of the coating off during removal.

Why is my print stringing heavily with blobs on the surface?

PETG is highly hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from the air rapidly. Even a small amount of moisture turns into steam inside the nozzle, causing severe stringing, oozing, and popping sounds. Dry the filament at 60–65 ℃ for 4 to 8 hours to restore perfect print quality.

Will the glitter particles wear out my standard brass nozzle?

No. Unlike Carbon Fiber or Glow-in-the-dark filaments, the sparkling particles in our PETG are made from non-abrasive materials (typically mica or safe cosmetic-grade glitter). It is completely safe to print with a standard brass nozzle without causing premature wear.

How can I make the sparkling effect more visible?

To maximize the glitter effect, print with thicker layers (e.g., 0.2mm to 0.28mm) and increase your printing temperature slightly (around 240-245 ℃). Thicker, hotter layers make the base PETG polymer more transparent, allowing light to catch the deeper glitter particles better.

Can I use this for outdoor items like garden tools or car accessories?

Yes! Unlike PLA, PETG has excellent UV resistance, high weatherability, and a higher heat deflection temperature (around 70-80 ℃). It will not degrade in the sun or warp easily in the summer heat, making it perfect for outdoor functional parts.
