Do I need to apply glue to my build plate for TPU?

Yes, absolutely. TPU adheres too well to PEI sheets, glass, and smooth build plates. If you print directly on the surface without a release agent (like a solid glue stick or Magigoo), the TPU can permanently bond and tear the coating off your bed during removal.

The page says it supports Bambu Lab AMS. Are there any special settings required?

Yes. Our Hyper TPU 95A is formulated with optimized stiffness to support AMS workflows. However, to ensure smooth feeding, keep your PTFE tubes as straight as possible, disable filament runout retractions if possible, and avoid printing models that require excessive, rapid retractions.

How do I prevent my TPU prints from severe stringing?

Stringing with TPU is primarily caused by moisture or incorrect retraction settings. First, dry the filament completely. Second, increase your travel speed and enable retraction (but keep the retraction distance short, typically 1-3mm) to prevent pressure build-up in the nozzle.

Do I really need to dry it if it's vacuum-sealed?

Yes. TPU is highly hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from the air quickly). Even though it arrives vacuum-sealed, we highly recommend drying it at 50-55 ℃ for 6-8 hours before your first print to guarantee a smooth, bubble-free surface.

What does Shore 95A hardness feel like?

Shore 95A is a semi-flexible material. It feels similar to a shopping cart wheel or a hard rubber shoe sole. It is highly durable and impact-resistant, capable of bending under force but stiff enough to feed smoothly through 3D printers.
