FAQ & Files

Does Matte PLA require a hardened steel nozzle?

No. LANDU Matte PLA does not contain abrasive additives like carbon fiber or glass. You can safely print it using a standard brass nozzle without experiencing excessive wear.

How does print speed affect the matte finish?

Printing at higher speeds or higher temperatures can increase the glossiness of the final print. For the most uniform frosted matte appearance, keep the nozzle temperature closer to 200°C and maintain consistent outer wall speeds

Is Matte PLA as strong as standard glossy PLA?

No, it has slightly lower layer adhesion compared to standard PLA due to the matte additives. We recommend using it for aesthetic models, prototypes, and decorations rather than load-bearing functional parts.

Are supports easy to remove with Matte PLA?

Yes. The matte additives typically make support interfaces slightly more brittle. This allows for easier and cleaner support removal compared to standard glossy PLA.

Do I need to dry Matte PLA before printing?

Yes, drying is recommended if the filament has been exposed to humid ambient air. Drying the spool at 40–45°C for 4 to 6 hours helps prevent stringing and ensures a smooth surface finish.
