FAQ & Files

Why won't the first layer stick to my print bed?

First-layer adhesion issues are usually caused by three things: an unlevel bed, a dirty print surface, or incorrect nozzle height (Z-offset). Wash your PEI sheet with warm dish soap and water, ensure your bed is heated to 45–60 ℃, and lower your Z-offset so the filament is slightly squished into the bed.

My prints are warping or curling at the corners. How do I fix this?

Warping happens when the plastic cools and contracts too quickly. To prevent this, ensure your heated bed is set between 50–60 ℃. Also, keep your printer away from cold drafts or open windows. For sharp-cornered models, adding a "Brim" in your slicer settings will help hold the corners down.

Can I put objects printed with PLA in the dishwasher or microwave?

No. Standard PLA has a low glass transition temperature, meaning it starts to soften and deform at around 55–60 ℃. The boiling water in a dishwasher or the heat from a microwave will completely melt and ruin your print.

Why did my nozzle suddenly clog halfway through a print?

For PLA, mid-print clogs are often caused by "heat creep," where heat travels up the hotend and melts the filament before it reaches the nozzle. Ensure your hotend cooling fan is working properly and avoid printing PLA in an enclosed, hot chamber. Also, check that your filament isn't tangled on the spool.

How should I store the filament when I'm not printing?

Although standard PLA is not as moisture-sensitive as PETG or Nylon, leaving it exposed to a humid room for weeks can make it brittle and cause stringing. Always store it in a sealed bag or airtight box with desiccant silica gel packets.
